Romans 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Oh, our precious God, The giver and keeper of promises, We can't wait to receive Your promise of eternity with You. Please forgive us for our sins. Please let your Holy Spirit remind us daily that what we suffer with today will not last. And let that reminder and the hope of our future bring us joy and strength until that day comes. In Jesus' hopeful name, we pray. Amen.

Hope For That Day

Glory to God
For the hope of that day
When He welcomes us home
Where forever we'll stay.

Where homes are not empty
And hearts are not crying,
Where no one is leaving
And there's no sad good-byeing,
Where acceptance is real
As commanded by Him,
Where bodies and minds
Are made whole once again,
Where there's no more sorrow
No guilt, and no pain,
When there's no more anger,
No bitterness, no blame,
Where life isn't over,
Where death doesn't win,
Where He brings us together,
Eternally with Him.

Glory to God
For the hope of that day.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Dear God, our Healer, our Helper, our Sustainer, we thank you.  Please forgive us for our sins.  Some of us really struggle through our day.  And if not us, we probably know someone who does.  But we know that with You, we can get through.  We know that You are working behind the scenes making all things possible.  Please continue to provide all that we need and all that our loved ones need to accomplish what we need to accomplish.  In Jesus' powerful name, we pray.  Amen.

My God is Doing Great

How am I doing, you want to ask
Well, let me tell you straight.
I am weak and tired
But my God is doing great!

He's doing things, with me and life,
That without Him I couldn't do.
He's still walking, He's still leading,
Guiding me on through.

He gives me opportunities
To serve Him where I am;
To make the most of my days
While I'm living on this land.

He's given me life stories;
Lessons to be shared,
Words of His promises,
His unending love and care.

How am I doing you want to ask?
I'm doing each day with love.
I'm pained and weak and tired,
But I'm doing each day with God.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Our Lord, who is Holy and Just, we love you. Thank You for Your love. Please forgive us for our sins. When we ask Jesus to fill our hearts, He comes and He fills. And when He does You take us as Your children. We are so blessed. And You give us Your Spirit who testifies that yes, we are your children and you are our God. Praise Jesus! Glory to You God! Thank You for Your Spirit. Our adoption is complete. In Jesus' wonderful name, we pray. Amen.

Our Guarantee

I have the grand assurance
That I will see the Lord,
That I will enter Heaven
And live forever more.

I believe in God the Father
Who raised Jesus from the dead.
His spirit now inside me
Just as He had said.

He's here to give me guidance
As I spend my days on earth.
But even better He's the seal,
The one I don't deserve.

I have the Holy Spirit.
He is my guarantee.
God raised up Jesus Christ
And He will raise up me.

Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Abba, Father, we can't thank you enough for giving us a family to love and support us when you adopted us into Your family. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank you for Your goodness and Your faithfulness to us, Your children. Help us to help each other on our journey. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Daddy's T-Shirt

As a young girl
When I went to bed
I'd wear Daddy's T-shirt to sleep in.
It made me feel special.
It made me feel safe.
It made me feel like I was near him.

I'm a grown girl now.
Instead of his shirt
I wear my Father's robe of righteousness.
It makes me feel special.
It makes me feel safe.
It makes me feel wanted and blessed.

He's given me this
So each day I give praise
To the God of all creation.
I humbly accept
And wear it with grace
My Father's robe of salvation.

Romans 8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Dear Father God,  Thank you for claiming us as your children.  We believe in Your Son and You've adopted us into your family.  Please forgive us for our sins.  Some of us have felt so alone but You fixed that with Your love and acceptance and we thank you.  We pray for the many people who don't know you, who are lonely, wandering, trying to fit in, we pray that you will be persistent with them until they realize their place is with you.  In Jesus' name, we pray.  Amen.

I Found My Place

Often times I felt a sadness
Having no place I could go.
I felt there's no place I belonged.
I felt lost and quite alone.
But now when I've been pushed aside,
I turn away and then,
I see the one who loves me true,
And loves me with no end.
My God, my Father, has chosen me,
Yes, me to be His child.
He adopted me, He welcomed me,
He embraced me with His arms.
The joy I feel I can't explain;
A peaceful, comfort from within.
Once I felt I had no place,
Then I found my place with Him.
I found my place with Jesus,
With His Father up above.
I found my place in His family,
And He's welcomed me with love.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

Dear God, You are holy and pleasing to our hearts.  Please forgive us for our sins. Help us when making choices to consider Your Word.  Help us when we are aware to always choose what's right by you.  In Jesus' good name, we pray.  Amen

Choosing Good

It's tiring sometimes,
Always choosing to be good,
Doing what is right and just
Like our Master would.

I know I am not perfect
As hard as I may try.
I know I'll often slip up
And that's the reason why

When right and wrong are clear to me
I will choose what's right.
I will choose the ways of God
In every single fight.

Cause in the end I'm hoping
To hear my Father say,
"I'm proud of you, my child,
You chose good today."

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

God of all that's good, the Leader and Giver of life, we thank you. Please forgive us for our sins. Please show us when we are headed in the wrong direction. Sometimes things start out innocently enough, but further down the road we may find it was not according to your will. We want to live according to your will. Thank you for being the light to guide us. In Jesus bright name, we pray. Amen.

A Light In The Darkness

Though I struggle with some difficulties
I hold my head up high,
For it's my Lord and Savior
That I trust in day and night.
Sometimes it may seem doubtful
That the Lord, God hears my plea,
But He's the all-knowing one
And I wait on Him to lead.
As long as I take focus
On His promise made to all,
I can bear all things that hinder me
For He outweighs them all.
Hardships, let them come my way
My love for Him won't waiver,
For they are only here today
But His love, it is forever.

Deuteronomy 8:11 Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.
Numbers 15: 38 “Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. 39 And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and dothem,

Tassels

Jesus is my tassel.
I look to Him each day.
Remembering the Lord's commandments
And following by grace.

The tassels on the garments
Of so many years ago,
Were put there in remembrance
Of the commandments of the Lord;

To remember all God's precepts,
To follow and obey,
To be holy for their God,
In every single way.

When I look to my Lord Jesus,
I have nothing but desire
To follow in His footsteps;
To be Holy for my Father.

Jesus is my tassel.
His love for me, a sign
To honor and observe
God's word
All of the time.

Lord, You are mighty to save. You are loving with Your commands and wise in Your instructions. Please forgive us for our sins. A tassel's not a bad idea, or a string on our finger, a rubber band on our wrist. Because we do want to keep your commands. But we don't need a tassel to remember You. You are our God whom we love. Help us show our love with our efforts of obedience.

Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Because I Know Jesus

When I am confused,
Anxious, or scared,
I can find comfort
In Jesus' care.
Because of His wisdom,
Because of His plan,
Because I know Jesus,
In faith, I can stand.
When I become tired,
When my patience is thin
I can find rest
From my Savior within.
Because of His power,
Because of His strength,
Because I know Jesus,
I can get through each day.
When I'm being tested,
When trials I face,
I can get past them
With Jesus' grace.
Because He is faithful
I have hope from above;
Because I know Jesus,
Because of His love.

Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

An Added Gift

Sometimes we don't know how to talk
When to our Lord we pray,
But the Holy Spirit speaks for us
He knows just what to say.
He shows us of what's right and wrong
He helps us understand
The will of God, His grace, and mercy,
His love for all the land.
He gives us courage to take new steps,
And strength when we are weak.
He gives us wisdom in making choices,
And kindness when we speak.
He fills us with a strong desire
To spend time with the Lord;
To be with Him in thought and prayer
And learning from His word.
No better gift could God have given
For each of us to form
An intimate relationship
With Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Shopping For My Spirit

Shopping through the aisles,
Of the local grocery store,
I imagined it was my spirit
That I was shopping for.

I'd skip the processed foods,
Fake cheese and phony meat,
And fill my cart with fruits
For my heart and soul to eat.

I'd buy a bag of goodness
And faithfulness, oh yes,
A pound of love and joy
And kindness pure and fresh.

I'd venture to the bread aisle
And stock up on good bread.
Enough to feed my soul each day
Until I shopped again.

And milk there would be plenty.
I'd buy it by the case.
For I want to be like Jesus.
It's the one thing that I crave.

Then when I stood at checkout,
I would wait there, patiently.
I'd add a chocolate candy bar.
Another gift for me.

Song of Songs 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

I Love You Still

Many days have passed
Since our winning date for two.
I chose to let you in.
I chose to walk with you.

Basking in the sun,
Though it wasn't always good.
We faced our share of mountains
But together, our hearts stood.

Holding up each other
While God, He covered us.
Protecting from all evil,
Strengthening our love.

Each season brings a change
But the sky is still blue.
Roses are still red
And I
Still choose you.

Our great God of love, The Father of Love, You Are Love! Thank you for loving us and giving us each other to love also. Please forgive us for our sins. Because love is an action, it can't be swept away. Help us to always choose love, being a reflection of You. In Jesus' loving name, we pray. Amen.

1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

For the Father, Through Christ

There's only one God.
Yes, it is true.
The creator of life;
Of me and of you.

He created us all,
Each woman, each man,
So we could live life
And live it for Him.

And then He brought forth
His very own Son.
The life-giving Master,
There's only but one.

Through Jesus, we live.
He gives us the means
To live a life righteous
If we only believe.

The Father, He made us
To live life for Him.
Enabling us
Through Christ with no sin.

Popsicle Sticks for Jesus

Popsicle sticks make houses.
Popsicle sticks make frames.
Popsicle sticks both big or small
The thought is just the same.
Moms buy the popsicle sticks.
Children build with glue.
Then give them back to their moms
As something bright and new.
Popsicle sticks for Jesus.
His gift to you and me
To spread the word of His love
To everyone we see.
Popsicle sticks are a blessing
When shared with those we meet.
That's giving back to Jesus,
His gift of love complete.
