Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for our safe place, in Your arms. Please forgive us for our sins. Please wrap Your arms around all who are frightened. Please calm their hearts, with the remembrance of the hope that is in You. We thank You and ask in Jesus, our King's name. Amen.

A King In the Jungle

It's a jungle out there,
Some people might think,
With growling, and clawing
And gnashing of teeth.

Shade from the past
That lurks in the air,
Trees, tall and mighty,
Causing great fear.

Bullying, cruelty,
So much negativity.
Selfishness, rudeness,
So dark we can't see.

But wait there is hope.
There a light shining through.
If you follow it, Jesus,
He will guide you.

There still will be evil.
There still will be fright.
But you will have hope
Because you will have Christ.

I woke up this morning
With pain in my hips.
But Lord, please receive
This praise from my lips.

This pain in my back
And tiredness I feel,
I praise You, dear Lord,
For keeping it real.

If things were so easy,
If I hadn't any pain,
I might get too comfortable
And fail to give praise.

And You are deserving.
Your praises I sing.
I live not like royalty
But I do have a King.

I don't have big money
In a protected bank vault.
But my ticket to Heaven?
It's paid in full.

Some things I have not.
A few things I do.
The thing of most value, Lord,
Is my relationship with You.

Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You. You are holy and just and perfect. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank You for our salvation through Your Son. And thank You that it's a gift that we will never lose. Please help us be more deserving. In Jesus' good name we pray. Amen.

Not Once, But Always

Our sin makes us dirty.
It can really leave a mark.
It often leaves us lonely,
Scrambling in the dark.

Sin, it will condemn us,
Leaving us in shame.
Nothing that we try to do
Could ever clear our name.

But Jesus, in His sinless life,
Came and made a bridge.
He laid His life down for us,
His righteousness to give.

And this, not just for once
But forever in our lives.
All our sins, forgiven
With a one time sacrifice.

Sin can make us dirty,
Too stained to be received.
Jesus makes us worthy
With His blood that washes clean.

I know there's nothing stronger,
Nothing mightier than You.
I know there's no one wiser
Or more compassionate, it's true.

My worrying makes no difference,
Doesn't fix or change a thing.
But one thing that it does
Is show a lack of faith.

So I am gonna sit here,
Hands folded as I pray.
And I'm gonna wait and watch
For You to make a way.

There's nothing that's more powerful.
Not one thing that's been shown.
Thank You, mighty Father,
Your Glory stands alone.

God's love is more than saving.
It's not a one time gift.
He doesn't save then walk away
He teaches how to live

He helps us as we grow.
He helps us want to be
A good and pleasing child
Of the good and pleasing King.

Our bodies only grow
When we feed them healthy food.
So feed yourself the Word of God
So your spirit will grow too.

"I taught you to be brave and strong.
I taught you to be kind.
I taught you 'bout God's Spirit
Who's with you all the time.

So take this bag I packed for you.
Go on about your day.
Everything you'll need is there
And don't forget to pray."

With that, the children left her,
Equipment in their hands.
They remembered in the Bible
God also had a plan.

Just like Jeremiah,
He chose you 'fore your birth.
He gave you all that you would need
To complete His special work.

He had an important job in mind,
For each one of us to do.
His plans are always special.
You must be special too.

When you walk under the sunshine
And breath the crisp cool air
When you stop to watch the squirrels play
God, He is there.

When you're driving down the highway
And people slow to stare
At an accident that happened
God, He is there.

When you think you have alone time
When nothing needs your care
When you think that you are hidden
God, He is there.

When you look into the night sky
And see all that God has shared
Thank Him for His presence
'Cause God, He is there.

He didn't have to raise the dead
Or heal the sick and blind.
He didn't have to calm the storms
And He didn't have to die.

But He loved you and He loved me
And those that came before.
He loves those who are yet to come
And so our sins He bore.

He could have turned His back on us.
He could have up and left.
But He chose to love, to bear all things.
He chose to die instead.

God created Heaven.
He also created a way
To reach His precious children
And bring them home to stay.

Nothing's more important
To a woman or a man
Than to find their wayward child
And bring them home again.

God's love is so much bigger
Than even a mother's heart.
Nothing's too demanding.
No place is e'er too far.

Each time a child's recovered,
Redeemed and turned to home
There's gladness up in Heaven
And rejoicing from the Throne.

Heavenly Father, You are mighty and awesome and worthy of praise. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank You for Jesus and His sacrifice. Thank You for Heaven. Thank You for the chance to choose our eternal home. We choose You every day! And we pray that others will too. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Choose Your Home

I didn't choose my mother,
Though she's the best for me.
I didn't choose to lose my dad,
Though he's happy now, and free.

God doesn't make us do things.
He doesn't force His grip.
He will, however, bless us
If we submit to Him.

I didn't choose my illness
Or this pain in my right knee.
But I did choose my eternal home,
A gift God offered me.

When I choose to follow Jesus,
His ways over my own,
I find that I am blessed
Before I reach His throne.

Then when the day approaches
For Christ to come again,
What an honor and a privilege
To have chosen faith In Him.

Ten days together,
Before God in prayer,
Brought answers from God
That none can compare.

God wants our presence,
Our time, and our faith.
He wants us to ask Him.
He wants us to pray.

Imagine the answers
Our hearts would receive,
If we stayed and we prayed
With hope and belief.

We have a built-in heart
And a built-in thirst.
Did you know we have
A built-in worth?

Our lives matter.
Our lives count.
We are important.
We have value.

God, He has said so.
It's already there.
Made in Christ's image,
We are His heir.

We have a built-in worth
With a built-in fate.
A gift from the Lord
For all to partake.

We have a built-in value
In our build-in soul
We are all worthy
For God says so.

Thomas was a believer.
Then he showed doubt.
God was God then.
God is God now.

God is not a gardener.
He's not a singer or a fan.
God needs no description.
God is I AM.

God's the same today
As He was in the beginning.
All-knowing, all-loving,
And always unchanging.

He couldn't stop the waves.
He couldn't save his friends.
He didn't have the power
For he was just a man.

A fire, storm, or sickness
Can never reach our sides
Without getting past Christ Jesus,
Whose word can stop the tides.

We don't need a friend who knows us
But can't save with one command.
We don't need a God who loves us
But, our pain, can't understand.

We need our God who made us,
And a man who can relate.
A man who is willing
And strong enough to save.

That is the good Lord, Jesus
Who has power to control.
He is God. He is man.
And nearest to our soul.

Loving isn't easy.
Just ask our dear, good Lord.
Jesus, He had suffered.
He suffered long and hard.

He suffered years of insults,
Abandonment, abuse.
He suffered through the bullying
Then beatings, blood, and "boos."

Long enough to pay our debt
With whippings to His back.
Over and over
While others looked and laughed.

Long enough to ask for mercy
But accepting God's good plan.
Jesus suffered long and hard
Through heartache and great pain.

Jesus suffered long enough
To wash our sins away
With the blood that he poured out
On His crucifixion day.

Loving isn't easy.
It takes humility and grit.
Praise God for a Savior
Whose' love just wouldn't quit.

A Need for Rest

One day Christ was quiet.
No details of a lesson,
No teaching, no healing.
Not a single word is mentioned.

There's nothing in the books
Of Matthew, Mark or Luke.
Nothing in the book of John,
No word on how He moved.

A week before He died,
On the Sabbath day,
Jesus must have rested,
Must have worshipped, must have prayed.

If Jesus saw the need
To take a day of rest,
Shouldn't we follow suit?
Jesus knows what's best.

Thankful for Grace

Grace says I am God's,
Cherished and adored.
I am healed. I've been changed.
I'm free and I'm restored.

Grace says I am welcomed,
Forgiven and redeemed.
I'm chosen and adopted.
I'm an heir of the Great King.

Grace said I am priceless,
Worthy to be saved.
I am loved. I am His.
A treasure He has claimed.

He was patient with me
As my first steps were shaky.
And each time I asked,
Jesus forgave me.

He didn't keep records
Of the sin that I made.
Each time He forgave me
He washed them away.

He has been kind,
Compassionate too.
He helps me believe
The things I could do.

He promises love
Now and forever.
He says I am His.
And He is my treasure.

Because of this love
That I have received,
I should be loving
To all that I meet.

I can be caring.
I can be kind.
I can forgive
Time after time.

I can be selfless,
Put others above.
I can be loving
Because I am loved.

I wasn't there in the stable
When Jesus Christ was born.
I wasn't there with Thomas,
With Mary, or with John.

I wasn't there for breakfast
On the beach along the sea.
I wasn't there when Jesus healed
And made the blind to see.

I wasn't at the wedding
Where Jesus made more wine.
I wasn't in the crowd
When Jesus drew the line.

But I have seen His glory
Every time I looked outside.
The sun, the moon, the stars,
His creation in the sky.

I have seen His glory
In the goals He's helped achieve,
In the change in me, He's made,
And His love inside of me.

I have seen His glory
In a hospital room,
In a funeral home,
In a church in a pew.

I'm blessed, so very blessed
For, His glory, I do see.
I wasn't in the stable
But the Babe is here with me.

A coat of paint, some gray duct tape
Are just temporary fixes.
There's a torn screen, broken pipes
And other minor glitches.

The furnace needs replacing.
The roof is worn from storms.
The floors creak, the windows squeak
And there are hinges off of doors.

One way our bodies differ
From our houses on this land,
Is one day we'll get new ones
Straight from God's own hand.

Not remodeled, flipped or freshened,
Not fixed up with some paint,
But we'll receive a whole new body.
For, our Father's plans are great.

So when you're feeling beaten,
Tired, and in pain
Remember your one step closer
To a body, Heaven-made.

He walked then, from His woodshop,
Changed His apron, wiped His brow,
And started serving water
To an ever-growing crowd.

Jesus served a calmness
To those caught in a storm.
He taught a couple of fishermen
Where to fish for more.

He served bread to the hungry.
He healed those with disease.
And on His final night of life
He washed up many feet.

He could have come for us to serve
But He chose to serve instead.
He chose to sacrifice His life,
"King of the Jews" above His head.

He returned to His mansion,
A banquet to prepare,
To be a Servant once again
To all He welcomed there.

Let us serve each other
As taught throughout God's word.
Let us share the love of Christ
By putting others first.

So Great is God's Love

God loves you.
That is a fact.
His holy word says so
From front to back.

In the beginning
He loved you, His own.
He loves you completely
As time carries on.

There's nothing that He
Didn't see first.
He saw you and loved you
At your very worst.

He saw you in the dark.
He sees you each time.
And still, the Lord loves you
With a love that's divine.

No circumstance exists,
No evidence revealed,
That can ever change how
Our gracious Lord feels.

There's one thing to know,
And two to hang on to:
God's love, it is great,
And He has it for you.

Dear God, We praise Your holy name. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank You for that forgiveness. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Let us not believe the lies that we're not good enough. Remind us that Jesus makes us good enough. Help us to have faith in His righteousness and hope that comes from Him. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Getting Up

Pride makes us fall away.
Shame keeps us down.
But if our hearts look upward,
Christ, He can be found.

Faith makes us right with God.
In His grace, we stand.
We have peace with the Lord
Through His salvation plan.

Guilt no longer holds us back.
With Christ, we'll persevere.
Hope will never leave us.
God's love, always near.

Blind ambition,
Success at all costs
Only leads our faith away
From our all-providing God.

Plans we may make
For a dream or a goal.
But we should use discernment,
Checking with our soul.

A wise man seeks
Insight from another,
Never roaming from the Lord
But staying close and covered.

Blind ambition
Can turn into a mess.
But with a guarded passion
We'll give to God our best.

Did I have enough of this?
Did I do enough of that?
I really dread that meeting.
Is my tire going flat?

Then I looked up past the red light
And sitting in the sky
Was a painting from the Lord
Saying all will be alright.

The sky, it held the sun
In the middle of pink and blue.
Its rays, across the mountain,
Lighting up the view.

Just like the Son of God
Who gladly lights the way.
If I fix my eyes on Jesus.
I'll have a brighter day.

God doesn't ask us to move mountains.
He asks us to move our feet.
He doesn't ask us to split water.
He asks us to give a drink.

God doesn't ask us to be healers.
He asks us to be giving.
He doesn't ask us to break prison bars.
He asks us to go visit.

He doesn't ask us to multiply bread.
He asks us just to give it.
If we ask to join God's family
Then He asks for us to live it.

To live a life of gentleness,
Showing kindness to the least.
He doesn't ask for miracles,
Just to do good things.

Everything belongs to Him
Our trucks, our boats, our tools.
All we have comes form Him
Sometimes He'll use it too.

He'll use it for HIs glory.
Therefore we must act right
So people will see Jesus
As we work throughout our life.

And when there is a moment,
When it's quiet at our work,
We can pray for co-workers.
'Cause every prayer is heard.

If we use the "boat" we have,
Given us by God,
We can plant the seed at work
And He'll complete the job.

Love accepts the past,
Our acts of sin and shame.
Love is not selective
In the choices that it makes.

Love accepts the liers,
The gossipers, the proud.
Love, it is not choosy.
It accepts the crowd.

Love accepts the greedy,
The selfish, and the rude.
Love is not particular
Or partial to a few,

Love accepts the present
And everything thereof.
I'm thankful I'm accepted.
I'm thankful God is love.

And now I must be loving,
Just like Jesus is,
No exceptions, no rejections.
I must be like Him.

I took a walk through the park that morning.
I could smell the lilacs in bloom.
Butterflies would fly right past my face
And trees seemed to reach to the moon.

I took in the air God had given.
I felt the Lord's breeze on my face.
That was the great moment it hit me.
Everything came from God's grace.

What a wonderful garden Designer.
A universe Creator, indeed.
The sounds, the smells, and the colors,
Created for us, you and me.

The rest of the day I spent talking.
Telling of God's wonderful ways.
Sharing His love made me happy
And He deserved all of my praise.

God didn't give up on David
When he sinned with a wife, not his.
He didn't give up on Paul
When he struggled with his sin.

So you can feel like quitting
But I would stick it out.
'Cause God is full of mercy.
He's never backing down.

He doesn't look away
Or run from our mistakes.
He picks us up, forgives our sins,
And washes them away.

God, He doesn't give up on us.
He knocks, He waits, He looks.
His work is never finished
'Till all is right and good.

Like rings that I wear on my fingers
And a scarf wrapped around my neck,
I will carry Your words, always, with me.
I trust them for whatever is next.

I keep my feet in Your guidance.
I look straight ahead at Your light.
Then I can walk in confidence.
And have peace to rest through the night.

Your word, a treasure to carry,
A valuable possession it's true.
With it, I have all that is needed
To get me home safely to You.

Jesus was King.
A name given not earned.
He was God's equal
Yet, He chose to serve.

We're to be like Jesus,
Following His lead.
He valued others,
Therefore, so should we.

Jesus wasn't selfish,
Didn't push His way through.
But He would help another
Get ahead, it is true.

He cared about His friends
And the interest of others.
We need to care more
For our sisters and brothers.

More thoughts about "them"
And less about "me."
More like Jesus,
Is how we should be.

Let His love be the answer,
His ways be the cure.
Be gracious to others,
Selfish no more.

We can't overcome it.
We can't hide it inside.
We cannot forget it
Though hard we may try.

We need to get washed.
We need to get right.
We can't get to Heaven
On our own might.

I can't fix you.
You can't fix me.
We need someone spotless.
We need someone clean.

And that's where our Savior,
Jesus our Lord,
That's where He comes in
With mercy and more.

He will forgive us,
All sin, big and small.
He'll wash us all clean,
Forgetting them all.

God is so good,
So Holy and Just.
He made a way,
With a Savior for us.

Ask Him for anything.
Ask Him today.
If you don't see your answer
It's still on its way.

So put away your worries.
Bury them beneath
The covering of Jesus,
Our safety to keep.

It's great to have God,
A shield from it all.
Not an ocean's too wide.
Not a mountain too tall.

There, for the covering
From all of life's elements.
Our God, He is faithful.
His ways, always excellent.

An hour of worry
Will not bring relief.
But a mustard seed of faith
Will keep you in peace.

When we accept our Savior
He takes us as we are.
But the old life needs to change.
We need a pure, repentant heart.

So Water was delivered,
Gushing through our souls,
Splashing in new faithfulness,
Filling every hole.

The purest of all waters
Pouring in new patience,
Bringing in wells of peace
For things we may be facing.

A Holy Water River
Soaking us with love,
Flooding us with goodness,
And gentleness from above.

Our precious Holy Spirit is
A well that won't run dry,
A Spring of gushing Water
Sent from God on high.

Isn't that true with us all?
It's always a sight to behold
When the gifts that we give are used
With joy and purposeful goals.

I believe it's the same with the Lord.
He blesses us each with a gift.
When we eagerly use it to bless
It's ever so pleasing to Him.

Each of us are new and unique
And so are the gifts He bestows.
No one can use your gift like you do.
It's your gift and your gift alone.

So take time to learn what you have.
Cultivate it more every day.
Then your gift will be a great blessing
And joy will come over God's face.

The word was with God
From the beginning.
Hanging the stars
And got the world spinning.

A Worker of miracles.
That word became life.
That life was a Man.
And that Man was a Light.

He made a crippled man walk.
He multiplied bread.
Turned water into wine
And awakened the dead.

He's a light in the darkness
Of our unknown steps.
His life became payment
For all our sins debt.

He hung and He died
On a tree that He grew.
Then He walked free
From a strongly sealed tomb.

He outshines the darkness.
Has never grown dull.
A great God of love
And divine miracles.

I can't get through
Another day.
Another task,
I cannot take.

God knew, alone,
That I was weak
And so through Christ
He met the need.

He lives inside
And every day
He builds me up
For things I face.

Christ's in me
To fill a need,
To tell the story,
To plant a seed

And with His help
I'll work each day,
Each week, each year
That comes my way,

So all who come
Across my path
Will know the hope
That they could have.

God's good story:
Christ in You,
The hope of glory.

I'm preparing to meet my Father.
Anxious for His embrace.
It's like He signed the papers
Before my birthing day.

He has a room there, waiting.
My name is on the door.
I have a chair at His table,
A crown, a robe, and more!

It is His great desire
To adopt me as His own.
He made a way, through His Son.
Yes, I am headed home.

Could you forgive a man
Who whipped you 'till you bled?
Could you forgive someone
For putting thorns upon your head?

Jesus had compassion
On His enemies that yelled.
The ones who spit on Him and hollered,
"King of the Jews, save Yourself!"

Jesus, He was bleeding
From the nails that they drove in.
In His wrist and in His feet
But Satan didn't win.

Jesus' love is bigger than
Any cross there is to bear,
Any lies from Satan's lips,
Or hatred in the air.

Jesus cried up on the cross,
His compassion strong and true,
"Father please forgive them,
They know not what they do."

His compassion shows great mercy,
His sacrifice, great love.
I'm thankful for the gift of Christ,
Of our faithful .loving God.

Dear I AM, our great and mighty God, We praise Your holy name. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank You for being an unchanging God, a God with a plan, a God of love. Thank You for inviting us to be in Your family. We pray for our earthly families, that they will also accept Your invitation. And we ask this in our Savior's great name, Amen.

Our Big I Am

Jesus, Jesus,
The great I am.
The One who causes.
The One with plans.

Jesus, Jesus,
The God who is.
He is unchanging.
The world is His.

It's His creation,
His family, His gem.
We are a part of
The great I Am.

God is Lord
Over all the earth.
Deep and wide,
His name is heard.

He's big enough
To fill His land,
Up and down,
Around again.

I Am is here.
I Am was then.
I Am will be
Forever grand.

God is I Am
And always was.
Our apt and able,
Unchanging God.

The farmer brought the two cows together.
He linked them with a harness of wood.
The straps around Bruno were tightly drawn
But Frontier's straps were loose for his good.

The two walked shoulder to shoulder.
They were yoked together, you see.
Bruno carried a load that was heavy
But Frontier carried his with great ease.

Much like our Heavenly Savior
Who walks close beside us each day.
We're yoked together with Jesus
And He carries all of the weight.

He carries the debt from our sin.
He carries our worries and fears.
He lifts the loads that we cannot carry.
He listens and carries our tears.

You say your burdens are heavy?
Then you need to lighten your load.
Get yoked together with Jesus.
He'll walk with you all the way Home.

We thank a man for good things.
We praise our God down on our knees.
When a man performs like God
He is seen and held in awe.
God was man through Christ His Son
So we could know and feel His love.
Now we are complete in Him
Our Holy God in human skin.

Maybe you're tilling up
Rows of old dirt.
Like God had Adam do.
The garden, his work.

Whatever you're doing,
Do it with zest.
God gave us work.
We should give it our best.

We can pray as we serve.
We can praise as we work.
Our labor, an example
Of living God's word.

We work for our food
And all of our needs.
We can double our blessing
With spiritual winks.

He is the Creator.
He is the Breath.
He is the Bearer
Of our sin's debt.

He knows what it's like
To lose one you love.
God, He gave up
His very own Son.

When hearts are in pain
And tears wash our cheeks,
God understands
And He can bring peace.

He is our Keeper.
And if He desires,
He can return
A son to one's arms.

Our God, He is able
And this we adore:
He is the Author
Of life evermore.

All secrets, all shame,
All embarrassment too.
God's love covers all
If you ask Him too.

All worries, all doubts,
Each pain and each scar.
God's love covers all
When He's let in your heart.

His mercy is grand.
It covers all things.
There's nothing too big.
His love always wins.

He washes our souls,
Each tear that we shed.
With love and great mercy,
He covers our heads.

What a great God,
Tender and kind.
You'll see you are covered

When you're going on a journey
First, you have to pack.
Some things you want to bring.
Some things you have to have.

You sometimes need a sweater
To cover when you're cold.
You may need a map for guidance
To bring you safely home.

You may need to bring a light
To help you when it's dark.
You'll need to pack your planning skills
So they don't fall apart.

God prepared us for our journey.
He packed up all we'd need.
Then sent us out into the world
His holy love to bring.

Some bring love by writing.
Some are skilled with wood.
Some bring love by paying bills.
And some can cook real good.

Some bring love by praying.
Some bring love by song.
Some are good at speaking.
Some teach right from wrong.

God packed us, like a suitcase,
Before we came to be.
To do the things that He had planned,
He gave us all that we would need.

The Lord, He is with us.
He is not far away.
He is in Heaven
And still here each day.

Who else has a god
As near as our God?
He stays close beside us
As He goes out abroad.

Moses declared it.
David confirmed.
Paul made the statement.
It's all in God's Word.

The Lord, He is with us,
With you and with me.
Let that be our comfort.
Let that bring us peace.

I know the challenges ahead of you
Are overwhelming.
Many decisions are facing you
About your future;
New things to be learned,
Choices to be made,
Friends to keep, and friends to let go of.
As you move forward,
I prayed that you would remember
You are a child of God
And He is more than happy to guide you.
Because there are so many options before you,
I prayed that you would choose
The ones that will bring you
Peace and pleasure
Honor and respect.
I asked God to have His hand on you,
To give you discernment in your actions,
To give you courage
To say no,
And
Faith
To say yes!

The mountains proclaim His strength.
The trees blow in His wind.
The ocean waters, a reminder
We can be cleansed within.

The sky whispers His glory.
A color for every virtue.
The grass makes a soft place to fall
Like His arms reaching beneath you.

The stars in the sky are many.
God's thoughts of you are more.
The flowers of the fields, He planted.
The sands on the beach, He poured.

When God designed the earth
He took great thought and care.
A reason for all He created;
The water, the soil, the air.

The many parts of the earth
Working together to be
A blessing to all He established
And to you, His most esteemed.

Be patient with your neighbor.
Give yourself some grace.
Be kind and do not envy.
Take care of your space.

Be forgiving of your neighbor.
Lend a helping hand.
Rejoice in what is true.
Be firm in where you stand.

Be encouraging with your neighbor.
Use your positive words.
Look into the mirror.
Speak kindly to her.

Pray for your neighbor.
Say prayers for your being.
You are important.
You are deserving.

God loves your neighbor.
He asks you to too.
Always love your neighbor.
And the one and only you.

The battle is already won.

Imagine starting each day out

It's something we've heard of and believe in
But sometimes we fail to apply.
Satan's no power against us
We're covered by Jesus, divine.

Many years ago
Some sheep heard a cry.
They followed it and found
A mighty surprise.

The cry led them to
A door wrapped in white;
So strong and so brilliant,
It showed like a light.

There's only one way.
There's only one door
To get into Heaven
For life evermore.

God knew help was needed.
This door was the way.
So Jesus was born,
Showing up in some hay.

He grew to become
Our wonderful Savior;
Our One Door to Heaven
Asleep in a manger.

Two boys were walking home one day
From playing basketball.
They knew they'd better hurry
'Cause night was soon to fall.
'
The younger boy was playing
With a stick, he brought along.
Twirling it and waving
As if conducting his own song.

Then suddenly the older boy
Reached and grabbed the stick.
And with 2 hands he broke it
Then gave it back real quick.

"That stick, it served no purpose,"
He told the younger boy.
"It was plain and dark and stiff
It really had no point.

But now that it's been broken,
It lights up through and through.
It can shine the way to home
And lead others homeward too."

Sometimes we must be broken
To ask God in our lives;
To serve Him and to praise Him
And to others be a light.

Just like a broken glow stick
Or a broken grain of wheat,
We can be a light to God
To everyone we meet.

Christmas is a happy time.
A time of peace and joy and love.
And all because a gift received
From the heavens up above.
Christmas day was just a day
'Till Jesus Christ was born.
Now Christmas day is such a day
We remember it all year long.
Jesus gave so much for us
We thank Him when we pray.
We celebrate His day of birth
On Christmas, it's His day.
We decorate with lights and bells
Share gifts, and laugh, and sing
But the greatest gift 'twas ever given
Was Jesus Christ our King.

God made sure
The wise men knew;
He made sure the kings were told
That Jesus Christ the Son of God,
Was born for all to hold.

He made sure
The shepherds heard
The news of His great birth.
He wanted all to know Him;
All the people of the earth.

It didn't matter
Where they lived;
In mansions or a hut.
It didn't matter what they knew;
Intelligent or not.

Their status,
Unimportant,
Their race and gender too.
God made sure all were told of
The glorious, good news.

The gospel's meant
For all to hear.
It's meant for all to share.
That none be lost when He returns
But all
Meet Him in the air.

Mama's picking flowers.
They're wild daffodils.
Some are yellow, some are white
And they cover all our hills.

She's picking for the neighbor.
I really don't know why.
The lady's often grumpy
And gives an angry eye.

Mama's heart is gentle.
She's forgiving and she's good.
She says the Bible told her
To act like Jesus would.

Jesus is forgiving.
He's patient and He's kind.
My mama acts like Jesus.
I'm so glad that she is mine.

And since I love my mama
And I love my Jesus too.
I'm picking daffodils
To give the neighbor too.

Maybe she will smile
At the daffodils we bring.
I know that God will smile
As we imitate our King.

Every new day is a fresh can of paint
To make something grand from a life of mistakes.

Every new day is a colorful bud
To create a bouquet showing one love.

Every new day is a clean page and pen
Giving a chance to try once again.

Every new day is a new set of keys
To play a sweet song of hope and of peace.

Every new day is a fresh piece of wood
To build a strong bridge for all that is good.

Every new day is a new skein of yarn
To design something soft to comfort life's scars.

The words you speak.
If they are true,
Will stand the test of time.

They can be read.
They can be said.
The truth you'll always find.

But tell a lie
And cause a pain
And one day be exposed.

Life can be unfriendly,
A little rough sometimes.
People pointing, sometimes yelling,
Makes me lose my mind.

I try my best to smile.
To do what's right and good.
But some just won't accept it
Though I really wish they would.

I think I'll grab a kitchen chair
And carry it outside.
I'll wait for Jesus' coming,
I'll look up to the sky.

I know that He is coming soon
And all will be brand new.
I know that He will hold me
And love me through and through.

I'll take a few deep breaths and pray
To my Father, God on high.
If Jesus hasn't come by night
I guess I'll go inside.

But that won't stop my waiting
For Jesus to come back.
When all will be at peace again
And my smile stay intact.

If bullying's the rule,
If it's taking over
Then we must make sure
God's love's spilling over.

We need to show kindness.
We mustn't tear down.
Today is tomorrow
We must do it now.

Showing God's patience,
His kind, loving ways,
Offering a hand
To make brighter days.

Our words must be gentle,
Bringing nothing but peace,
Showing God's goodness
To all that we meet.

Keeping control
Of our words and our hands.
Spreading joy, not evil
Across this great land.

The work's now before us.
We must conquer the hate.

Two tiny leaves
In a big tree of green
Stood out from the others,
So easy to see.

Their color turned red
Before it was time.
They danced in the wind
Like a dance to a rhyme.

They blew up and down
As their red color burst.
It seemed one was shouting
"Look at me, I am first!"

They turned and they twisted
On a branch of the tree
As if one were saying,
"Over here, look at me!"

Then off in a distance,
So soft but distinct,
You can hear the Lord's voice,
"You're all special to me.

If you just look around
You might be surprised
That you're from the same tree,
The great tree of life.

I love when you're green
I love when you're red.
I love you the same;
No one more, no one less."

So many times in life I cried.
I worked so hard. I tried and tried.
Then one day the answer came.
I took it on and now today
I close my eyes and seek the wise
And do it God's way.

Nothing but defeat and pain.
Incomplete and feeling drained.
Until the day I found my rest.
My life today is at it's best.
On bended knee, I praise my King
And do it God's way.

Flying solo is gone for good.
I live my life just as I should.
Peace and joy, they follow me.
In God's light, I'll always be.
I've lived my life. I have survived.
And did it God's way.

I prayed for peace the other day
When entering a room.
So often negativity's there
Like a dark and wretched tomb.

But as my heart was praying,
The answer that I heard
Was, "If you want peace in there
You must bring it in your word."

Take peace to where you're living.
Share it from your hands.
Share it in the words you speak.
Let peace be in your plans.

Bring peace to where you're going.
Your heartbeat needs to sing it.
If it's peace you want in your presence
Sometimes you have to bring it.

Covered in white;
Not from fresh snow
But from everything bright.

Kindness to neighbors,
Generosity too,
A hand reached for helping,
A donation of food.

A handshake, a smile,
A twinkling eye,
A prayer for God's blessings
On all that pass by.

Bringing peace where it's needed.
Keeping peace in the home.
Being pure in all actions,
God's love being shown.

Carrying a light that will shine

Bringing warm, peaceful thoughts

What's better than presents

Wouldn't it be great to use patience in line,
To see people being helpful, thoughtful, and kind,
To celebrate another's success and good news
Not being jealous, arrogant, or rude?

Wouldn't it be great to treat someone else
With the mercy from God that you may have felt,
To care for another, not always agreeing,
To live here in peace with all of God's beings?

Wouldn't it be great to just take our time,
To stop and think twice before speaking our mind,
To forgive and let go of what's been done wrong,
To celebrate what's good, honest, and strong?

Love, it is patient, honest, and kind.
It trusts and believes time after time.
With love, there is hope, a light without end.

I live apart from fear and doubt
I feel protected and secure.
It's not from angels I find my peace
But from the One who sends them here.

Who is it that could make such beings?
Who do their powers come from?
Who would send these angels here?
From who do their purposes come?

Our almighty God; maker and creator,
Giver of all that is good.
It is God who sends the angels here,
Providing like no other could.

It's by His grace that angels serve,
And from His love come to our lives.
Let us worship Him, and give Him thanks

When the rain is pouring down.

Hold out a candle

Wait on Him in faith.

Give to her, a smile
When you have just one to share,

It was a special day at school.
Well, most schools I should say.
Many schools from state to state
Gathered round to pray.
Teachers, students, parents too
Joined up for a good cause.
They met up at a flagpole
To share their prayers and thoughts.
But one young girl was saddened.
Her school did not take part.
Not one would even stand with her
As she shared with God her heart.
Her mother walked her to the pole.
Cut grass not even swept.
The girl she dropped down to her knees
And there her prayers were met.
She prayed for all who did not come;
For all who stayed behind.
I can only guess her heart was full
But courageous all the time.
God saw a special sparkle there,
Alone at that flagpole.
Kneeling in the grassy shambles,
He saw a heart of gold.

God has with Him a basket,
A picture in His mind.
A basket full of treasures,
The apples of His eye.

He doesn't care 'bout color;
Yellow, green, or red.

Or hide from broken stems.

God loves us all completely.
From His word, He gives us life.
You are blessed and you are cherished.
You're the apple of His eye.

There were many times I sat alone.
I didn't want it to be that way
But I didn't want to call on anyone
For fear I may intrude.
I felt so different from everybody else.
I felt like I had no choices.
I felt like I had no purpose.
I felt like I would never feel happiness.
This pain that I felt only went away
If I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
God had been a part of my life
But that wasn't enough to pull me
Out of the darkness.
Now God IS my life
And the light I live in is His light.
I know now that I am different
Because God wanted me to be,
But I am just as important as others.
Abilities that others have
Are gifts from God,
And I too, have received many gifts.
My purpose is to live my life for God,
So others will know Him too
And will receive His gift of eternal life.
This gives me happiness, living for God
And I now have brighter hopes for tomorrow.

Flowers of many colors
Making a bouquet,
Leaning on each other
To brighten someone's day.
Using smaller flowers
To fill the empty spaces.

A gift to share with others
Making hearts applaud.
Like the flowers, we the people
Can join with one another
To create something beautiful
That none can put asunder.

There once was an elephant in a tree.
I wonder what he was hoping to see.
Was he looking to remember?
Was he looking for November?
Or like his friend, was he trying to be?

His friend the giraffe is quite tall.
His long neck helps him see past a wall.
He can see things up high,
Almost reaching the sky.
From a tree, he never would fall.

But a giraffe can't play and pretend,
Shooting water from a trunk without end.
He can raise a heart up
With a kind act or hug.
Like his great, mighty elephant friend.

God made each creation unique.
With a trunk or a tail or a beak.
Whatever's been given
Should be used as a blessin',
Putting a smile on someone's sweet cheek.

The fame, the glamour,
The sparkling lights,
Oh, to be a star.

The brightest stars
Were made by God.
He set them in the sky.
He made them shine.
He made them sparkle.
They even seem to dance.
He made them bright
To give us light.
They never dim or fade.
They will always shine
And be a light in the darkness.

Another light was made by God.
He set you in this place
To carry forth the word of life,
To shine
Like floating stars,
To live in love,
To lead the way
To righteousness and joy.

Is not enough.
They're simply words
Born of the tongue.
But words of truth,

A fresh, new start:
Putting away
All lust and hate,

That all will see.
Saying "forgive me"
Is only a phrase.
Truth can be found
In changing your ways.
So ask the good Lord

That without Him I couldn't do.

He gives me opportunities
To serve Him where I am;
To make the most of my days
While I'm living on this land.
He's given me life stories;
Lessons to be shared,
Words of His promises,
His unending love and care.
How am I doing you want to ask?
I'm doing each day with love.
I'm pained and weak and tired,
But I'm doing each day with God.

Leaning on a tree.
All out of breath.
Needing support.
Needing to rest.

This course that I'm on
Is making me weak.
I can't do it alone
So I lean on a tree.

I need to find answers.
I need the right path.
So I lean on a tree
'Till the answers I have.

Regaining my strength
I look up and see,
It's not a tree I've been leaning on
But Jesus my King.

He's stronger than an Olive tree.
Mightier than the Fig.
Jesus He's the place to rest.
Jesus He's my strength.

I'd get up every morning,
Put my shoes on and my coat.
Hop on my bike and peddle,
Before anyone awoke.
I had to deliver newspapers.
It was my job you see.
To carry papers to the doors
Of my neighbors on the street.
I never got to sleep in.
For there were stories every day.
Except for when there was the news
Of a King born in some hay.
I got to sleep past 5 o'clock
Each year on that morn.
A highly cherished reminder
Of the day that rest was born.
Christ had come to carry
The burdens in our lives.
To give us rest from bearing
Our struggles day and night.
Back then I slept in once a year.
I thought it was the best.
Until I learned how Jesus,
Each day will give me rest.

Dear Holy God, we are thankful to know You, to know Your Son, and to know forgiveness. Please forgive us for our sins. Thank you for Your grace and mercy. Please help us to use the gifts you've given us to tell others about Your great and merciful love. In Jesus' great name, we pray. Amen. 

I Will Tell the World

I have a gift that I've been given
It's my life eternally.
I'll live my life the Godly way...
So all the world will see.
I'm proud to be a child of God.
I'm thankful for the love He gives.
And I will share it with all I can
For in my heart He lives.

God gave us Jesus Christ.
We are to act like Him
In the way we live our life.

He came, He gave, He labored.
He gives and serves today.
He comforts those who're saddened.
He listens when they pray.

We need to give and labor.
We need to teach and feed.
We need to give the comfort
That we had once received.

Christ also is forgiving.
We must be forgiving too.
The Spirit gives us power
To do what's hard to do.

So when you take position,
And pray to God above,
First, forgive your neighbor
By the power of God's love.

Jesus, our Savior,
And our loved ones who've died.

They're together in Heaven;
Forever they'll be.
And one day we'll join them.

He's not gonna leave them;
They're safe and they're cared for.
There's peace, there's elation;
All that we pray for.

There'll be times that we miss them;
Sometimes every day;
But one day we'll join them;
One glorious day.

And Heaven will sing
The same praise on its tongue,
"Thank you, Lord Jesus
For our permanent home."

Do you have a mezuzah?
Do you have a door?
You don't need a mezuzah
To pray to the Lord.
The Bible told us long ago
To love the Lord completely;
With all our heart, with all our soul,
With all our strength, yes deeply.
It told us, to remember this,
To hang them on our doors,
To speak about them often;
In the eve and in the morn.
We don't need to have mezuzahs
Hanging on our doors
We only need to keep God's word
And love Him as our Lord.
Let's meet God at our doorposts
When we come and when we go.
Showing Him devotion
From our hearts forevermore.

Has your heart been betrayed?
Been beaten and broken?
Has your heart become rude?
Has it become hardened?

Is it often confused?
Is it spoiled and envious?
Is it sometimes unkind
And sometimes quite selfish?

There's nothing in there
That cannot be changed.
You have the potential.
God has the way.

Let His truth transform you.
Let His words conform you.
Let His Spirit indwell you.
Let His love restore you.

Watch your heart be renewed.

What makes a pumpkin different?
The color of its shell.
Some are orange, some are green,
Some are white as well.

But inside it's very simple
Just fibrous strands and seeds.
Made by God. Loved by God.
All the same. You see?

A garden is best displayed
With a variety that's mixed.
Working all together,
With the Master in its midst.

We should be a garden
of pumpkins on this land,
Working all together
Representing God's good plan.

His plan to have creation
In perfect harmony,
Where colors work together
To live in love and peace.

Abraham was willing
To sacrifice his son
For the love of his master,
For his faith in The One.
In the midst of his trial
He was strong and determined.
He worshiped his master
And followed his plan.
His faith did not waver.
His Lord would provide.
He knew he'd return with
His son by his side.
He took his son to Moriah
In fear and in faith.
And there he was blessed
Because he obeyed.

Abraham said, "......We will worship and then we will come back to you."

A permanent vacation,
In Heaven, it will be.
Nothing but relaxing,
Resting by the sea.
Standing on a mountain top
Looking far and wide,
Gazing at the sunset,
Watching eagles fly.
Nothing but gentleness,
Smiles galore.
Sitting at the feet
Of the one we adore.
Walking through a garden
Led by butterflies,
Looking at the trees
Reaching to the skies.
Won't it just be glorious?
It's what I'm waiting for.
A permanent vacation
Being with the Lord.

When God says it's time,
A surprise it will be.
He'll come and He'll gather
All of His sheep.

An eye, it will twinkle.
A trumpet will sound.
And we will all be
On God's Holy ground,

He'll look in His book.

Whose sins that He took.

I'll hear my name called.
I'll stand at the gate.
The door will be opened
And I will be changed.

New body He'll give me.
And this I will share;
If you trust in Him now

When you go about your business,
Being busy as can be,
Don't forget, keep your love on
So everyone can see

A little piece of Jesus
In everything you do,
Letting His compassion
And His kindness come through you.

The clouds may start to hover.
The future may look grim.
Keep your love on like a light
Pointing fingers up to Him.

Sometimes the air grows chilly.
Friendliness may seem scarce.
But if you keep your love on
You'll show how much God cares.

Now button up, batten down,
Secure, and fasten on.
Through sunny days, wind, and storms
Keep your love light on.

So when the Lord sends Jesus
To earth a second time,
All will meet Him in the air
And none be left behind.

When the raging battles start
I will be on Jesus' side.
He is my Deliverer
And He's the side that wins.

I don't know when He's coming
But I know He's coming back.

When Christ comes in the clouds

I want it in my ears.

When the time has come for twinkling

Dear God, our glorious God, thank You for having a plan and being our guide. Please forgive us for our sins. When the road ahead looks dark or far away, please let your Holy Spirit calm us with the reminder that You are all-knowing and when we stay with You all will be ok. Help us to trust. In Jesus' trustworthy name, we pray. Amen.

Up in a truck

Patiently,
A boy, he sat one day.
Waiting for his dad to come
Then they'd be on their way.
Where would they go?
He didn't know.
And what were they to do?
Anxiously he questioned this,
But the boy, he had no clue.
He just sat still,
Quietly
Waiting for the ride.
Knowing all was well ahead
'Cause Dad was by his side.
Oh, what a joy
To have faith
When answers we don't know
We too can rest in confidence,
For, God is in control.
In Jesus Christ
I put my trust,
For things yet to be seen.
For I know I have His love
And that's enough for me.

"Standing by a fence post,
Oh, what my eyes do see:
Children playing in the yard,
A squirrel, high up in a tree.
An old red truck is coming.
It's coming down from the hill.
It's him! It's him! I'm so excited!
It's my master, farmer Bill!
Out of the truck, he steps.
And the first thing my master does,
He reaches low to touch me
And gives my head a rub."
Much like this animal's master,
Our Master, He's on His way.
I wait in great expectation
For that glorious, beautiful day.
I know the clouds will be hovering,
But Light is all I will see.
Jesus, the Light of all life,
Reaching down to set my soul free.
He'll take hold of my hand that is reaching
Reassuring me, life's just begun.
Heaven will be my new home then
My job here on earth will be done.

"If you don't do it, you won't get it."
What random words to speak.
But sometimes it's those statements
That make us stop and think.
If you don't plant a seed
You won't get a garden.
If you don't do the running
You won't win the race.
If you don't ground the beans
You won't get the coffee.
If you don't ask for favor
You won't get the grace.
If you don't dip the brush
You won't get the painting.
If you don't hold the pen
You won't write the poem.
If you don't add the eggs
You won't get a cake.
If you don't use your love
You won't get a home.
If you do say a prayer
And then take some action,
You will get what you need
With great satisfaction.

There's a mystery out there.
Actually, there's more.
Things I can't explain,
Covered by the Lord.

There's the mystery of wind.
Of where it comes and goes.
What makes the body hiccup.
And how the river flows.

The mystery of humans
Forming in the womb.
A sacrifice of life,
An empty, guarded tomb.

He's the mystery of mysteries,
Our Father up above.
Revealing what He chooses
To those, He claims and loves.

The one thing He has shown us,
The one thing He exposed,
Is the love He has for all of us
When Jesus died and rose.

I do not understand it
But accept it all by faith.
The God who made the Heavens
Has made for us, a way.

He's greater than any being.
He rejoices o'er us with singing

We see all His glory.

Prayer is a message
To Almighty God.
Our needs and desires
Sent from the heart.
There once was a time
That we were not worthy
To speak to the Lord
Our heavenly King.
Through the death of His Son
God made a way.
He forgave us our sins,
He must want us to pray.
Sometimes we don't know
Just how to speak
Or what we should ask for
In times of defeat.
So God gave His spirit
Who knows what to say.
God gave what we need

Prayer is a sign
Of love and of trust;
A deep conversation
With God from above.
God's always near;
His ear to our lips.
He's always accessible
Right in our midst.

Don't know what's ahead

Some say I drink too much
Coffee in a day.
They can pass their judgment
But I will drink and pray.

Doesn't matter if it's kale on toast
Or cream inside my tea.
What matters is my Savior
And what He thinks of me.

I'd never be ungrateful
For the food that He provides.
I thank Him and I praise Him
For my burger and my fries.

I honor God by eating
The things He gives to me
In any combination
In any place, I'd be.

Some days aren't so sunny.
Some days aren't so fine.
Some days you have to make
Some of your own sunshine.

That's when I look to my Savior.
That's when I imitate Him.

Only Jesus can bring.

I saw you just the other day
Standing firmly in God's word,
Trying to share with others
What's commanded by the Lord.
People, they were laughing.
They scoffed and put you down.
They closed their ears and shut their minds;
It was you against the crowd.
But God was very pleased with you
For what you'd spoken of.
You boldly shared the word of God,
And you did it out of love.
Don't let those times discourage you,
When others fail to hear.
Remember Jesus faced the same
But His love, it persevered.
Yes, God is very pleased with you
For being faithful to His word,
For standing firm in what is right;
God's kingdom and not the world.

Walking through the streets one day
A person stopped a man to say,
"Follow Jesus and receive
A blessed life eternally."
"A life eternal, that sounds great,
But what about my life today?
I'll have to make a major change;
Give up my love of earthly things!
"So much to give,
So much to change,
So much to lose,
What will I gain?"
"A life eternal, you'll receive
And in this world, rest and relief,
Blessings, peace, prosperity,
And your place in God's family;
A loving Father, faithful and true,
Patient and helpful in all that you do.
His love and compassion will fill every day
When you give up your own, for Jesus' way.
So much to give,
So much to change,
So much to lose,
But much more to gain."

When a child is tired,
he clings to the arm of his mother.

A blind man may be guided by the arm of a friend.

A weak and hurting woman could be held up
by the arm of her husband.

When I'm tired, I rest in God's arms.

When I can't see what's ahead I clutch at his right hand.

When I'm hurt and struggling,
I cling to the right arm of my savior.

When I'm happy and excited, I pull at his right arm,
"Did you see that Father? Did you see that?"

God's arm
and His love
are steadfast and never-ending.

I cling to it each day as I walk and wait for His return.

When I go to my room
In the middle of the day,
When I put my head down
Across the bed, I lay.

God of all power
Remind me of this:
I'm just here to rest
I'm not here to quit.

I need to replenish.
I need to renew.
I need to push harder
To get myself through.

A little sit-down
Will not hurt at all.
It will refresh me
So I can stand tall.

It'll give me the kick,
The motivation I need.
I'm not here to quit.
I'm here to succeed!

Have you ever held such sadness
Deep inside your heart,
That when one's arms embrace you
The floodgates came apart?

The tears began to trickle
From my sadness to my cheek
When I heard God call me child
And He said, "Here, come to me."

He wrapped His arms around me,
My head against His chest.
And Jesus, He just hugged me
And did what He does best.

He showed me patience as I whimpered,
"I'm so tired," from my lips.
He listened to my troubles
And knew the ones I missed.

Before the moment ended,
I felt, again, His peace.
My sadness was so minor
From the love, God has for me.

A child is packing for an overnight stay.
She's going to Grandma's to giggle and play.
Her mom waiting patiently by her room door,
Watches her gather her teddy and more.

"Teddy comes everywhere with me," she said.
"And here's my rabbit, my dog, and my blanket from bed.
These others are broken. They're dirty and such,
But I must bring them also, 'cause I love them so much."

Jesus' words spoken true, and straight to our hearts.
He loves us in spite of our dark, broken parts.
He gathers His treasures from the East to the West.
He loves them the same, there's no one who's best.

We patiently wait at the doors of our souls
For Jesus to gather His treasures of gold.
He says there are many who've wandered and such,
But He must bring them also, 'cause He loves them so much.

A child can't do it
Without father's help.
He can't tie his shoes
Or buckle his belt.

He can't cut the grass.
He can't clean a stall.
I child needs help
And he knows who to call.

He trusts in his father
To do what he can't.
He knows he will help;
His father's his champ.

When we humble ourselves
And tell God our need,
He will come through
Because we believe.

My Father:
He made the manger
That Jesus laid in.
He made the mount
That He taught on.
He made the garden
That Jesus prayed in.
He made the tree
That He hung on.

How amazing it is to me
That a man such as this;
So powerful,
So wise,
So perfect,
Would also make me,
And love me as His child.

He rose up from the grave.
He rose above our sin.
If we indeed are one with Christ
We too will rise and live.

We can rise above temptation.
We can rise above defeat.
We can rise above our lonely days.
We can rise if we believe.

No chains or bars can hold us;
No hands of beastly strength.
No words that hurt like fire
Can hold us or constrain.

We can rise above our anger.
We can rise above the stress.
If we indeed are one with Christ
We can rise and live life, blessed.

Listen to your Father.
Obey His good commands.
Worship Him and love Him
With your heart and both your hands.

Hear the words He gives you.
Follow His narrow road.

That's all that is required.
That's all that He expects.
Living in His presence
In Holy reverence.

Like a sheep, I wandered off
But my shepherd, He stood by.
He never turned
His back on me,
But on me, He kept His eye.
He showed me patience through the times
That I was lost from Him.
He protected me.
He provided me.
His unfailing love would win.
I heard Him as He called my name.
He stretched His hand to me.
I reached for Him
He pulled me close
And my soul He washed it clean.
So great is our Shepherd Christ

It's dark outside.
There's a light in the window.
There's a man inside holding a fork.

The sun is now rising.
The rooster crows boldly.
It's giving its morning report.

The apples above,
From the big apple tree,
Look so incredibly sweet.

A stone from a wall
Holds open the door,
And through it, there's so much to see.

There on the floor
Is a man on his knees.
Before he continues, he prays,

He's got milk in a pail,
Grain in a bucket,
And his fork, He puts in the hay.

He'll work on the farm
That his dad used to tend,
Thanking God for his tractor and horse.

It was a cold winter's morning.
No feeder to be found.
A pair of Cardinals looked for food
Up high and on the ground.

Then Mr. Cardinal spotted,
On a house across the way,
Someone hung dried corn cobs
On a door to decorate.

He flew across the walkway
And landed on the door.
Followed by his Mrs. who
Was hungry even more.

He landed on the corn husks
And began to pick and eat.
But first, he fed his Mrs.
On the sill beneath his feet.

Isn't God so wonderful
How he puts things into place?
Knowing Winter's cold would come,
He made another way.

God wants us to be generous
To the needs of other souls,
To the orphans and the widows,
To the young and to the old,

To those who are forgotten,
Less intelligent, less famed,
To the abused, disenfranchised,
The labeled instead of named.

God never wants His children
To be badgered or pursued,
Not pushed aside or ignored.
For, His heart, it does include

Every male and every female,
From the east coast to the west,
Every race and every color.
There's none that He loves best.

Let's not worry about opinions
Of others who are cruel.
Let's stand up for the weary.
Let God's love be our tool.

Let's overcome the powerful
Who use their strength to hurt.
Let's show kindness and acceptance;
Let the lowly feel their worth.

Let them know that their lives matter.
Let them know that they're God's choice.
For those who fear to speak up
Let others be their voice.

Lord, give our hearts compassion

Minding my own business
In my daily life,
A storm opened floodgates
Causing me great strife.

Gushing in, the waters came
Covering the ground,
Lifting me off my feet
With chaos all around.

As quickly as it came
The storm, it also went.
The water had receded
My feet touched ground again.

I may have been disheveled
But I was not defeated
Cause I stood strong and steady
In the God whom I believe in.

The angry winds were blowing.
They shook me and they knocked
But even the strongest storms
Couldn't shake me off the Rock.

Walking through the streets one day
A person stopped a man to say,
"Follow Jesus and receive
A blessed life eternally!"

"A life eternal, that sounds great,
But what about my life today?
I'd have to make a major change;
Give up my love of earthly things!

So much to give.
So much to change.
So much to lose.
What will I gain?"

"A life eternal you'll receive
And in this world rest and relief,
Blessings, peace, prosperity,
And your place in God's family.

A loving Father, faithful and true,
Patient and helpful in all that you do.
His love and compassion will fill every day

I want to be a living statement
To what our God can do.
And so I must be careful
In the actions that I choose.

My words must be compassionate.
My actions must be kind.
My choices must be favorable
To Jesus every time.

My words and my behavior
Must point to Jesus Christ;
Proclaiming of His promises
That help me get through life,

Showing of His patience,
His grace, and charity,
Reflecting all the goodness
He is inside of me.

If God indeed is Master
Of the story of my life,
Then my actions should reflect that
And my choices testify.

If it's not impossible
Then there must be a way.
With God all is possible
You just need to pray.
Tell God your desires.
Trust, and then wait.

For all that He is.
Pray in your faith
And see how He gives.

On Friday He was crucified.
On Sunday Jesus rose.
What took place on Saturday?
Search your heart, it knows.

Your closest friend has passed away.
Was beaten and hung to die.
What would you feel inside your heart?
I know my heart would cry.

It'd cry for all the suffering
That struck my best friend's back.
It'd cry for all the moments shared
That I just cannot get back.

It'd cry for the abandonment;
He must have felt betrayed.
Even His own Father
Seemed to look the other way.

If Jesus is your hope in life,
If He's your closest friend,
Then your heart, it knows the feelings
Of His followers back then.

The day after His dying,
Before the third day's dawn,
There were grief and reminiscing
The day that Christ was gone.

And dwelt among us.
The word of God
Is living and active forever.

You say that you don't,
But yet it is written,
God's love is for all
And we're made in His image.

When you're mean and you're hateful,
When you mistreat and deprive,

Coconuts
And peaches too,
Lots of iron that's good for you.

God made them all,
They can't be wrong.
They keep our bodies lean and strong.

Eat more fruits

He's our Everlasting Father
From beginning to beyond.
Created every living thing,
He's the Living Word of God.

He came to die up on a cross,
Our worrying to cease.
We have our hope in Jesus Christ,
The blessed Prince of Peace.

Often times we look at life
And find only despair.
We wonder how things came to be;
We feel anger, hurt, and fear.
We may be living in loneliness,
Or in dark and evil sin,
We may be hindered by our health,
Or a brokenness within.
But if we trust in Jesus Christ
If we look to Him for strength,
He'll nourish us with His love
And bless us with His grace.
Then when we look at days gone by
And then at our today,
We'll see the power of our God
And the good that He has made.

The wind hears His voice
And it becomes still.
The waves see His hand and they stop.

He raised up the dead.
He walked on the sea.
He added fish to the fish that were caught.

He's the wisdom of God
He's the word of God
He's the son of God and of man.

He's a man of power
He's a man of peace
He's a man with a promise and plan.

The deaf He makes hear.
The lame He makes walk.
The blind, He makes their eyes see.

He cried to His Father
And so loved His brothers,
Their sin, He washed away clean.

The sick touched His robe
And they became healed.
And water He turned into wine.

His people believe
And their souls are set free.
Jesus our Savior, Divine.
