Guidance

Feet moving.
Doubtful. Confused. Nervous steps.
Fear. Hesitation.
A child walking a new path.

Hands holding.
Comfortable. Secure. Safe direction.
Wisdom. Faith.
God, the Father, leading the way.

Because You Have Said So

Give to the needy

When I am in need?
Forgive an offender
Seven times seventy?

Pray for the one
Who's caused me great pain?
Lend to a brother
And expect not to gain?

Show love to my neighbor
As I do my own life?
Sing songs of praise
When in sorrow or strife?
Give up my plans
To follow your own?
Go where you send me
When the place I don't know?

I don't understand Lord;
Your ways I can't see.
But because you have said so
I will Lord, for thee.

I'm Crazy

Is it crazy for me to love someone
With all of my heart and soul?
Is it crazy for me to give to Him
Everything I own?
Is it crazy for me to trust in God,
To believe in all He's promised?
Is it crazy for me to imitate Him
Being pure, and loving, and honest?
Is it crazy for me to give my heart
To one who's love is true?
Is it crazy for me to give my life
For a life eternal and new?
Is it crazy to choose a better way;
To follow God's faithful word?
Then call me crazy, crazy I'll be
'Cause I'm crazy for the Lord.

All I Need

Your love.
Lord, your unconditional,
Everlasting love.
It means more to me than anything;
Anything that I can see,
Or do, or touch.
It means more to me
Than any pleasure
That I may have today;
A pleasure that lasts
For only a moment.
Your love lasts forever.
Thank you for your love, Lord.
Though it's sometimes undeserved
You give it freely,
Completely.
Nothing else is required
When your love is felt.
Somehow it covers
All of ones needs
And all of ones desires.
Gracious and unfailing,
That is
Your love.

Psalm 145;8-21

The Beginning

A darkness above the ocean
gives way to rays of light
emerging from the horizon.
A new day's begun.

A seed covered in soil,
fed by light, watered by rain,
watched over by its maker.
Life has begun.

A sky filled with promise;
rain watering the ground,
and sunshine warming the air.
Spring times's begun.

A man filled with mercy
offering His nail-scarred hand
and you take it.
Heaven's begun.

Lucinda Berry Hill

In His Care

Are your day times filled with worry?
Are your nights filled with complaints?
Seek the Lord and His compassion.
Find comfort in His embrace.

The sparrow won't go hungry.
They're in our Father's care.
Are you not more important
Than a sparrow in the air?

Trust in God each step you take.
Don't wonder what will follow.
Find something good in each today,
And let God worry 'bout tomorrow.

No Expiration Date

Wouldn't it be great
If there were no expiration dates.

If milk would never go bad,
And bread wouldn't turn green,
If coupons could be used any time,
And sales would last forever?

Would't it be great
If the best thing in life
Could be used wherever, whenever, and forever?

It can be.

God's love:
He's available at all times.
His mercy can be sought again and again.
It's never too late to call on His name.
His promises never change.
His grace never runs out.

God's love has no expiration date.

Psalm 100

Looking For Clouds

When I was young
I'd lie in the grass
And gaze at the wide open sky.
I'd look at the clouds
Seeing pictures in them
As they would slowly past by.

Some may have been thick
And fearfully dark,
Some clouds looked soft as white cotton.
Some poured down rain,
Some buckets of snow,
And some clouds will not be forgotten.

Today when I look
At clouds in the sky,
I search with great expectation.
I look for the Christ,
My Savior's return.
I look with anticipation.

Revelation 1:1-8

A Light In The Darkness

Though I struggle with some difficulties
I hold my head up high,
For it's my Lord and Savior
That I trust in day and night.
Sometimes it may seem doubtful
That the Lord, God hears my plea,
But He's the all-knowing one
And I wait on Him to lead.
As long as I take focus
On His promise made to all,
I can bear all things that hinder me
For He outweighs them all.
Hardships, let them come my way
My love for Him won't waiver,
For they are only here today
But His love, it is forever.

2 Corinthians 4:6-18

So Shall It Be

When I tell God my desires
Then put my trust in Him,
Asking for His will
Asking in Christ's name;
When I give to Him my prayers
And say, "So shall it be,"
My soul rests in contentment
Knowing God will take care of me.
Whatever dreams come true,
Whatever desires fade
In my soul there'll be peace
'Cause I know to God I prayed.
I must be where He wants me.
Things must be as they're meant.
'Cause I gave it to the Lord,
So shall it be, Amen.

Keep Your Chin Up

When you're feeling saddened
Don't be in despair.
Keep your chin up
For comfort is there.
When you're feeling tired
Don't quit and lie down.
Keep your chin up
There's strength to be found.
When you face the enemy
Don't duck down in fear.
Keep your chin up
For courage is there.
When you need protection,
Your body and mind,
Keep your chin up
For there you will find
The hand of God
Holding you
In all of His love and glory.

Psalm 4:1-8

Family Love

He put on her sweater
and tied her shoes.
Then out the door they went;
hand in hand, across the yard,
down the hill,
to the end of the driveway.
When they reached the crossroads
he held her hand tighter.
As they walked along
he pointed out the beautiful flowers
and the poisonous plants.
Sometimes she tarried behind
getting distracted by an inviting sound
or an attractive view
and being tempted
to go in a different direction.
But he would stop and wait for her,
never letting her far from his sight.
They continued the walk together.
When she got tired
he swooped her up in his arms
and carried her home.
She squeezed his neck
and smiled with gratefulness.
He smiled back
with the love that he felt
for his granddaughter.

How much more are we loved by our God.
He always provides a helping hand,
a gentle lead,
and a voice of wisdom.
He allows us our space,
but never leaves our presence
and when we're weak or tired,
His grace carries us on.

What an awesome love
between a man and his grandchild,
and even more love from
Abba, Father.

Time Well Spent

When I leave this world
To be with the Lord
And my time is all that I take,
How sure will I be
When I open my book
And show what I've brought to the gate.
How many months
Did I take the time
To care for the sick and the lonely?
How many days
Did I send out a smile
Even to those who're less friendly?
How often were times
I'd search through His word
Hoping to grow from within?
How much of my time
Did I spend on my knees
With thanksgiving and praises to Him?
How many weeks
Were spent being selfish,
Hoping to hide from the Lord?
How many seasons
Or will it be moments
Did I spend in sharing God's word?
What will my book show
Of time spent in worship;
More time in His word or sin?
How sure will I be
When I take to the Lord
My journal of time spent with Him?

An Added Gift

Sometimes we don't know how to talk
When to our Lord we pray,
But the Holy Spirit speaks for us
He knows just what to say.
He shows us of what's right and wrong
He helps us understand
The will of God, His grace and mercy,
His love for all the land.
He gives us courage to take new steps,
And strength when we are weak.
He gives us wisdom in making choices,
And kindness when we speak.
He fills us with a strong desire
To spend time with the Lord;
To be with Him in thought and prayer
And learning from His word.
No better gift could God have given
For each of us to form
An intimate relationship
With Jesus Christ, our Lord.

John 14:15-27

God Chose You

God chose you for leadership:
To teach and guide the course.
God chose you for sacrifice:
To do for others first.
God chose you for service:
To feed, to wash, to care.
God chose you for honor:
A crown of joy to wear.
God chose you. He knew you
Could handle the heavy chore.
God chose you for mothering:
To bless you ever more.

Children bring lasting delight to your soul.

His Last Supper

What a wonderful man was He
Who came from Bethany.
In Jerusalem He was greeted,
"Blessed is the King."
They laid their cloaks across the ground
To show Him their respect.
They laid out branches, leaves, and palms,
A symbol of success.
He taught them all that they should know
Especially to love;
To love your neighbor as yourself,
And the Lord, God up above.
He ate with them a special meal
But before they sat to eat,
He went to His disciples
And with love, He washed their feet.
He shared with them the bread and fruit
That was poured into a cup.
He told them it was His last to drink
'Till His Father took Him up.
"This is my body," He took the bread.
"Do this and remember me.
This is my blood poured out for all;
My blood can set you free."
He warned them of the next few days
And promised them a friend;
A friend of truth and purity
Whose love would never end.
Together they sang hymns of praise;
Hymns of glory, peace, and honor
To the man that they had come to know
And the man that He called Father.
From there He took them on a walk.
He led them to a mount,
And on the lower slopes He prayed
In the garden where He knelt.
He prayed that He'd be glorified
So His Father would be too,
And the love that He had given Him
Would be given me and you.
And so this man who came to be
Our master, friend, and brother
Had shown His love to all of us
Even at His last supper.

His Eyes

You've got your Father's eyes.
You've got His nose, His laugh, His smile.
He gave them to you long before
He made you as His child.
Everything you are;
That was made and given you,
Is from your flawless Father.
You're everything He planned for you.
You've got your Father's hands.
You've got His ears, you've got His lips.
He knew your voice before you spoke.
He made your heart and gave you gifts.
In His mind He saw you.
You were perfect from the start.
'Cause perfect is all that God creates;
Perfect you, perfect me, perfect hearts.

Direction Given

I needed direction
You gave it to me.
I needed a reason
You led me to see.
You gave me an option
That I chose to take
With you here beside me
The first step I'll make.
It's scary to embark on
Something totally new
But I trust in you, Father
That you'll see me through.
You'll give me the courage
And confidence I need
To follow this plan
You've blessed me to see.
I'll give you the glory
For the goals that I reach
For without you to guide me
I could not achieve.
May others come calling
To you for a plan.
May you answer their prayers
And give them your hand.

   Who Is The Holy Spirit

He's the Spirit of God.
He lives everywhere.
Where'r we go
He will be there.
He's the all-knowing spirit,
The teacher of truth.
He lives inside me
And will live inside you.
He's powerful and holy.
He's a helper to all.
He's someone, not something
And knows and sees all.
He's the Spirit of God,
The Spirit eternal.
He is ever present and
Will always be faithful.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16

Lift With Your Knees

Are you burdened with a bundle
Of cares and special needs?
Are your concerns mounting higher?
Then lift them with your knees.

Are you carrying 'round a heavy load,
A weight from shameful deeds?
Are you laden with temptations?
Then lift them with your knees.

Has your life been touched with blessings?
Have you received the King of kings?
Is your heart filled with many thanks?
Then lift them with your knees.

Lift them
With your knees bent,
Your head bowed,
And your heart
Reaching to the Heavens.

In His Arms

Cradled in God's loving arms,
He calms my anxious heart.
He chases all my fears away
And helps me through the dark.
He helps me rest upon His name;
To let Him take my cares.
I close my eyes and I see
His arms are waiting there.
He renews my strength, restores my hope.
My troubles seem to fade,
And peace replaces sadness
When I'm in His sweet embrace.
No matter what the case may be
I know He'll life my heart.
No where do I feel more secure
Than cradled in His arms.

He is Faithful

As life seemed dark and frightening,
Hopeless, and unfair,
I looked outside and I saw
God's glory setting there.
A rainbow touched the sky that morn
In all its brilliant colors,
And reminded me of God's faithfulness
To me and to all others.
I witnessed His power in the shades
Of colors that I saw.
It calmed and reassured me;
That Gd is in control.
How gracious is our Father
Of all heaven and of earth.
He's merciful and loving
And faithful to His word.

I Have a Purpose

There were many times I sat alone.

I didn't want it to be that way
But I didn't want to call on any one
For fear I many intrude.
I felt so different from everybody else.
I felt like I had no choices.
I felt like I had no purpose.
I felt like I would never feel happiness.
This pain that I felt only went away
If I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

God had been a part of my life
But that wasn't enough to pull me
Out of the darkness.
Now God IS my life
And the light I live in is His light.

I know now that I am different
Because God wanted me to be,
But I am just as important as others.
Abilities that others have
Are gifts from God,
And I too, have received many gifts.
My purpose, is to live my life for God,
So others will know Him too
And will receive His gift of eternal life.
This gives me happiness, living for God
And I now have brighter hopes for tomorrow.

Let's Pray for Each Other

We may not know each other's names,
Nor have seen each other's faces.
We may not know each other's needs,
But together we can raise them.

We may be struggling with an anger,
With temptation, guilt, or pain.
We may be wrestling with a choice,
A decision, or a change.

I'll pray for you, will you pray for me?
Let us lift each other up.
Let us pray for one another
In the love that Christ has taught.

And let us pray in thankfulness
For all He gives and does.
Let us recognize His faithfulness
And praise Him with our love.

Keeping Good Thoughts

When we meditate on God,
On thoughts of peace and goodness,
Our hearts they are right with the Son.
When we think on negativity,
On anger, gloom, or worry,
We are meditating on sin, the evil one.

The thought of giving him
A place to dwell inside of me
Shudders me and makes me feel ashamed.
'Tis yet another reason
For keeping thoughts of goodness,
And not thought of selfishness or hate.

Let us not give into frustration,
Difficulties, or pride;
Let us keep from all negatives and sin.
Let us think as God would have us,
On what is good and right and loving,
Keeping our hearts and minds upon Him.

Make Room for Jesus

Clean up your heart for Jesus.
Prepare Him a place to stay.

He can only live where love grows.
Make room in your heat this day.

Clean up all places of darkness,
Sweep away all anger and hate,
Wash out all hints of impurity,
And change from your self-pleasing ways.

Fold up your tongue of filth and lies,
Put away all thought of bitterness,
Air out your heart of evil desires,
Of greed, and lust, and deceitfulness.

Make room in your heart for Jesus.
Make it like Heaven above.
He's holy, and righteous, and worthy,
Of a heart made pure for His love.

Another Day, Another Chance

"Thank you for this day, Lord",
I pray to Him each day;
Thanking Him for another chance
To live my life His way.

Another day to turn from sin
To stomp the devil out,
To ask for grace and forgiveness
And turn my life around.
I thank Him for another day
To do His work and spread His word,
To make a difference in one's life
To show the way up to the Lord.
I thank Him for another day
A chance to make Him proud;
To live the way that He has taught
To love others all around.
Another day to give Him thanks
To show Him all my love,
To give my life o'er to Him,
To praise Him up above.

"Thank you for this day Lord,
And may others thank you too.
May we make the most
Of the time you give
And live our lives for you. Amen."

 I Found My Place

Often times I felt a sadness
Having no place I could go.
I felt there's no place I belonged.
I felt lost and quite alone.
But now when I've been pushed aside,
I turn away and then,
I see the one who loves me true,
And loves me with no end.
My God, my Father, has chosen me,
Yes, me to be His child.
He adopted me, He welcomed me,
He embraced me with His arms.
The joy I feel I can't explain;
A peaceful, comfort from within.
Once I felt I had no place,
Then I found my place with Him.
I found my place with Jesus,
With His Father up above.
I found my place in His family,
And He's welcomed me with love.

Without His Love

Without His love
Where would I be;
Without the love
He gives to me?
I'd be alone
In shame and sin,
Without His love
The dark would win.

Without His love
Where would I be;
Without the love
He gives to me?
I'd have no feeling
Of peace or hope,
Without His love
I could not cope.

I would be empty,
My insides cold,
Without His love
That fills my soul;
Without the love
He gives to me;
Without His love
Where would I be?

Gethsemane and Me

My Father:
He made the manger
That Jesus laid in.
He made the mount
That He taught on.
He made the garden
That Jesus prayed in.
He made the tree
That He hung on.

How amazing it is to me
That a man such as this;
So powerful,
So wise,
So perfect,
Would also make me,
And love me as His child.

Genesis 2:1-7

He Is Pleased
I saw you just the other day
Standing firmly in Gods's word,
Trying to share with others
What's commanded by the Lord.
People they were laughing.
They scoffed and put you down.
The closed their ears and shut their minds;
It was you against the crowd.
But God was very pleased with you
For what you'd spoken of.
You boldly shared the word of God,
And you did it out of love..
Don't let those times discourage you,
When others fail to hear.
Remember Jesus faced the same
But His love, it persevered.
Yes, God is very pleased with you
For being faithful to His word,
For standing firm in what is right;
God's kingdom and not the world.

    Words With Change

To say "forgive me"
Is not enough.
They're simply words
Born of the tongue.
But words of truth,
Born of the heart,
Are followed by
A fresh, new start:
Putting away
All lust and hate,
Lies and gossip,
And vile ways.
Supporting your words
With action and deed,
With changes in life
That all will see.
Saying "forgive me"
Is only a phrase.
Truth can be found
In changing your ways.
So ask the good Lord
To forgive you your sins,
And show Him your heart
By change from within.

Just To Be

Sometimes I need to talk,
Need to speak of my concerns.
And sometimes I need
To ask for help;
To guide me through life's storms.
Sometimes I want to thank Him;
To lift my praises up.
And sometimes I want
Just to be
Quiet in His love.

In His presence
I want to be,
Where I feel I am me
All I am is welcomed there;
In His love, In His care.
Nothing to do, no need to speak,
In His presence
Just to be.

Sometimes I have a special need,
In faith I bring it to Him.
And sometimes just to share my thoughts,
I have His full attention.
Sometimes I want to praise His name
For all He's given of.
And sometimes I want
Just to be
Quiet in His love.

Hands For Jesus

I will be your hands Lord,
That feed your hungry children.
I will give them shelter,
Who haven't any home.
I will be your lips Lord,
To voice your words of wisdom.
I will be your tongue,
To teach what's right and wrong.
I will be your voice Lord,
To speak courage and direction.
I will be your hands,
To give a pat of praise.
I will give your love Lord,
To all, without condition.
I will be your arms,
To give a warm embrace.
I will be your hands Lord,
To clothe your children warmly.
I will be your gentle touch,
To comfort those in pain.
I will be your feet Lord,
To walk with those who're lonely.
I will be your hands for you,
And love all in your name.

Choose Your Road

It's said, life's like a journey;
Like a walk on chosen roads.
You have a choice on how to live;
On which you choose to go.

Do you choose a road that twists in darkness
Or a road that is well-lit,
A road that leads to a dead end trap,
Or a road that never ends,
A road that's known to get you lost,
Or a road that's tested true?
The choice is yours to make in life,
Now which one will you choose?

If you should find you're getting lost
Stop at once and turn around.
Choose the road that's best for you;
The road that's heaven bound.

He'll Make It Good

Often times we look at life
And find only despair.
We wonder how things came to be;
We feel anger, hurt, and fear.
We may be living in loneliness,
Or in dark and evil sin,
We may be hindered by our health,
Or a brokenness within.
But if we trust in Jesus Christ
If we look to Him for strength,
He'll nourish us with His love
And bless us with His grace.
Then when we look at days gone by
And then at our today,
We'll see the power of our God
And the good that He has made.

Genesis 50:15-21

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Time For A Friend

He wants to be a friend to us.
He calls us to His side.
How can we be a friend to Him
If we don't take the time?
How can we get to know Him
And understand His ways,
If we don't listen to His words
Or care 'bout what He says?
Why should He want to help us
When we find we're in a bind,
If we don't also share our joys;
If we don't take the time?
How can we keep a friend like Him
If we don't stay in touch?
We need to share, to spend some time,
It doesn't take that much.
He wants to be a friend to us;
A friend to last all time.
We need to know a friend like that.
We need to take the time.

The Time Is Now

We'll not know the time of day;
He'll come like a thief in the night.
We'll hear the trumpet and be changed
In the twinkling of an eye.
In the twinkling of an eye, it's said
That's how sudden it will be.
Blink your eye and you will find
We'll have no time to speak.
No time to say "I'm sorry Lord."
No time for us to pray.
No time to turn our lives from sin.
The time is now, today.
Repent, and live for Jesus Christ.
He's giving us the time.
Accept His love, and be changed
In the twinkling of an eye.

A Masterpiece

It's an original.
It's one of a kind.
The image is pure and sharp.
The message it sends,
"An eternal love."
It reaches to your heart.

A gracious gift.
A sole design.
Available to all.
One needn't pay or work for it,
Just make a faithful call.

A masterpiece.
A perfect plan.
Hung for all to see.
"It is finished," Jesus said.
Our salvation is complete.

Take Time For Prayer

When the sunshine awakes you
And you begin your day,
When you wake up your family
And send the on their way,
When you're headed for work
Or on your way to a class,
Preparing yourself
For a speech, test, or task,
Take time for prayer.

When you're spending your day
With a friend at the mall,
Or a special event,
Or playing some ball,
Whether you're doing your duties
That need to be done,
Or allowing yourself
Some leisure and fun,
Take time for prayer.

When you're a little unsure
Of a decision to make,
When you feel you need guidance,
Wisdom, or strength,
When you see that you've made it
Through some pretty rough days,
When you see you've been blessed
In so many ways,
Take time for prayer.

When The Stone Was Rolled Away

Tears of grief were all around
For the man they thought they'd lost;
When Jesus Christ was crucified,
When He died up on a cross.
Life was frightening and dark;
No hope, no joy, no faith,
Until they came and saw the sight
When the stone was rolled away.
Then joyfulness had filled their hearts
When they saw Him with their eyes.
They knew He spoke with faithful words,
For from death He did arise.
So once a life of hopelessness,
Today a life of faith;
A peace was found not known before
When the stone was rolled away.
And now we feel that same delight
As He lives with us this day;
For He took His place within our hearts
When the stone was rolled away.

A Book With Promise

In the corner of the room
There stands a table
Made of Cherry wood and
Topped with glass.
And on the bottom shelf
There lies a book.
Since 'twas written
There's been many years gone past.
It's set up so
To make a good appearance,
But up close
It's covered in thick dust.
I guess no one has
Taken time to read it.
Suppose they're all to busy
With work and such.
Don't these people know
Of its importance?
They look at it
As just an age-old book.
But what's inside
Could change their lives forever
If they would only
Take the time and really look.
For it's a book filled
With hope and inspiration.
A book of love,
And faith, and sacrifice;
There it's written,
You'll have a life eternal
For He died for us,
Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
When you see
This dusty book upon a shelf,
Or hidden in a corner
From the light,
Brush it off
And let your heart inside it,
For in this age-old book
There is new life.

Count and Grow

Count the crosses that you see.
Count them one by one.
And with each cross, count a gift
You've been given from above.
All good things, each perfect gift
Is sent down from our God.
Take a moment and count a gift
Each time you see a cross.
Count the simple things in life;
The wind that cools your face.
Just find one thing that pleases you
And bring to Him the praise.
Count the crosses that you see
And with each cross a gift.
You'll grow in love, in hope, and faith,
And be ever close to Him.

When No Means Yes

I cried and I begged of Him,
"God, please let me have this one thing."
But God full of love and wisdom,
He answered no to me.
Then He held and strengthened me
And brought me through those days.
Today I have a grateful heart
For all His excellent ways.
"Father, please take this cup from me..."
Jesus prayed up in the garden.
But God full of love and mercy,
He answered no to Him.
I'm glad that God says no to us;
To me and Jesus too.
Sometimes His "nos" are really saying,
"I love you
Yes, I do."

Luke 6:20-23

His Love is Extra-Large

Sitting quietly in His presence,
My thoughts on God above,
Focusing on His great power,
On His mercy, and His love.
His love is bigger than any problem,
It's greater than any concern,
More powerful than any pressure,
Lasts longer than any storm.
My heart is filled with peacefulness.
My concerns seem to be null.
When looking into God's caring eyes
I find His love is in control.
My problems seem to be growing
But His love is extra-large,
And nothing compares to the comfort
Of the love felt in His arms.
His love is heavier than any burden,
It's tougher than any task,
It's bigger than any sin we make
And much stronger than any test.
It's larger than any mountain of grief,
Lasts longer than any storm.
God's love is extra-large
And is greater than any concern.

Psalm 36:5-10

How Sweet the Sound

Jesus. Jesus.
How sweet is the sound.
Jesus. Jesus.
No better love is around.
Sing it. Say it.
Shout it to all.
Jesus is love,
His name says it all.

Hearken the sound
You make when you say,
"Jesus is King
And He's here to stay."
Lift up your voice
His name like a song.
Spread forth the joy
Of Jesus our Lord.

Jesus. Jesus.
How sweet is the sound.
Jesus. Jesus.
No better love is around.
Sing it. Say it.
Shout it to all.
Jesus is love,
His name says it all.

Philippians 2:5-11

Great is the Shepherd

Like a sheep, I wandered off
But my shepherd, He stood by.
He never turned
His back on me,
But on me He kept His eye.
He showed me patience through the times
That I was lost from Him.
He protected me.
He provided me.
His unfailing love would win.
I heard Him as He called my name.
He stretched His hand tome.
I reached for Him
He pulled me close
And my soul He washed it clean.
Great is the shepherd who takes such care
Of his flock of sheep.
His love is true.
His love it lasts.
And my love I give to thee.

Show them Jesus

"Let the children come."
Jesus wants the small ones near.
Let their simple faith embrace
Their Master's love so dear.
Teach them of God's mercy,
His kind, forgiving ways.
Teach them of God's promise
Of eternal, peaceful days.
Show them by example
The way He'd have us live.
Show them of what's right and good;
To care, and love, and give.
Through thee troubled, worldly times
Fret your heart no more.
Know that children's eyes are on
Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Keeping Good Thoughts

When we meditate on God,
On thoughts of peace and goodness,
Our hearts they are right with the Son.
When we think on negativity,
On anger, gloom, or worry,
We are meditating on sin, the evil one.

The thought of giving him
A place to dwell inside of me
Shudders me and makes me feel ashamed.
'Tis yet another reason
For keeping thoughts of goodness,
And not thought of selfishness or hate.

Let us not give into frustration,
Difficulties, or pride;
Let us keep from all negatives and sin.
Let us think as God would have us,
On what is good and right and loving,
Keeping our hearts and minds upon Him.

I Found My Place

Often times I felt a sadness
Having no place I could go.
I felt there's no place I belonged.
I felt lost and quite alone.
But now when I've been pushed aside,
I turn away and then,
I see the one who loves me true,
And loves me with no end.
My God, my Father, has chosen me,
Yes, me to be His child.
He adopted me, He welcomed me,
He embraced me with His arms.
The joy I feel I can't explain;
A peaceful, comfort from within.
Once I felt I had no place,
Then I found my place with Him.
I found my place with Jesus,
With His Father up above.
I found my place in His family,
And He's welcomed me with love.
